The Impostor's Guide

Long time, no see!

Posted by: shyeyes19 on: August 11, 2010

Hello! I only just realized how long it has been since I’ve posted on the site; good lord, I’ve been slacking. By slacking, I mean working all summer instead of writing, but that is still no excuse.

Anyway! I have a few new posts coming up soon in both Band Geek and Bookworm. Please don’t hate me for the months off!

Welcome to the new URL!

Thanks again for being patient through the move! I promise that this location and title will provide a better sense of the blog itself.

In other news, there is a new page to look at! I realized that, while I am an English major, the world of literature is just as foreign to me as any of the other world of nerdiness that I claim to explore. Why should I ignore this side of me? Hence, the “Bookworm” page is now in existence and will have something to make you laugh (or cry, depending) very soon!

Thanks for reading! Watch out for impostors in your everyday life, and if you find them, help them find their way home!

A Beginning

I have friends who would argue that I am not nearly nerdy enough to write a blog like this. I have others, however, who can see my true colors. I am not well-versed in any one area of dorkdom, but I do love my dorky friends from all places on the nerd spectrum. Lately, I have been spending more time with my physics and computer geeks, but I have friends or at least know people in almost every field.

Personally, I am an English major with a minor in Informatics, but this was not always the case. Probably one of the reasons why I am in the situation to be close to people with such a wide range of interests is that I began my college career as an engineer, and, since just about the only similarity between engineering and English is that they both start with the same letter, the switch has allowed me to see a side of college that few are able to encounter.

As I mentioned before, I have been spending much of my time lately in the company of a more technical field of nerd; my boyfriend is an electrical engineering major with a love of computers and technology, and one of the main campus groups I’m currently in is a social group for physicists. Because of this, I appologize in advance if my posts at least for now are a little tech-heavy; I promise that once football season hits there will be plenty of marching band geek related topics. For now, I’ll wait and see what I see and share with you as I go. Hopefully you’ll enjoy my stories from the world of the strange.

What am I thinking???
